The Travel Bug

I have decided that the more I travel the more I want to travel.  We have been in Germany for the last few weeks and we had a wonderful, family filled, coffee drinking, cake eating, hiking good time.  Much of our time was made up of this.

 

 

 

 We didn’t do that much actually, but it got us thinking that when the boys are older, we would love to spend some time with family and then some time taking European adventures.  Rome is somewhere I really want to go.  When the boys can appreciate it more, we will.  I have other places on my list too.  Till then, I will sip coffee and eat cake in Germany instead of eating gelato in Italy.  Still pretty great I would say!!

Happy Planning

I get bored easily.  I also overwhelm myself quite often.  Not sure why I always feel the need to have more than just a couple irons in the fire, but my mom says I have always been that way.  Since I was a kid I always needed some project or friend to entertain me.  As I got into high school I remember being on summer break for about a week when the words "I'm Bored" would come out of my mouth.  I guess this blog is just a way to embrace this quirk of mine.  Keeping a list of things I would like to do always ensures that I will not be bored.  Having two little boys also helps.

I love planning too.  Planning just about anything really.  I love my calendar!  I love to mark it up with fun events and who is where and filling it with trips to see friends and dinners and trips and date nights and all sorts of fun things.

So, with busy-ness and planning in mind, I will share with you a few little projects I am working on:

• We need to have a garage sale.  Not sure when, but this summer we must!

• I am walking in the Avon Walk for Break Cancer in San Francisco in July.  Would love some encouraging words or a little moola thrown my way.  I am really looking forward to this huge challenge!

• Our trip to Germany is quickly approaching.  We are going to spend most of our time in Fulda, with a little time in Eltville.  The Gusthotel Baron Knyphausen  looks very cute!  But I am looking forward to many days like these.

• I want to make some Easter pants for the boys...must do this soon!

• KJ's 3rd Birthday is right around the corner as well.  I will need to start planning soon.  Not sure what my theme will be but I love Ohdeedoh and their many ideas. Fire trucks, dinosaurs, who knows...

Paris, France…You Have to Wait

Many of the blogs I have been reading lately are about France. Design Mom and Oh Happy Day are living the dream, literally living in France!  Very cool!  I have been to Paris and driven through a bit of the countryside, but Conn has never been to France.  I am craving the open air markets, the food, the beautiful scenery and the carefree feeling I have when I am on vacation.  I have to say, this weekend was very far from France.  We were at home trying to recover from all the sicknesses we have had, the amoxicillin was flowing.  So, with France on my mind, fresh cheese and a baguette for a snack, I was very happy when KJ suggested we watch Disney’s Ratatouille.  This might be my favorite most recent Disney movie.  Ahh, Paris, you will have to wait.

Not Hawaii

We have booked our flight to Germany for the Spring.   I am so excited to go. 

And we are taking both boys, which will be quite an experience, squirmy, wiggly, anxious boys on a very long flight.  Oh joy!  We took KJ when he was just about a year old.  When we started our trip he was just out little baby but by the time we got home he was a little boy.  Kids grow so much when taken out of their comfort zone.  I am excited to see how they both do and hope they will enjoy it as much as Conn and I.  I love Germany!

On that note, I have to say, although I love Germany (previously stated), I was really craving more of a tropical holiday.  So, on my bucket list next time we travel to Deutschland- Tropical Islands, http://www.tropical-islands.de/en/visitors.html south of Berlin and north of Dresden. Yes, you read it right, this is a water park in the middle of Germany.  The boys are too small now, but next time we visit will be in another two years.  Maybe we can make it happen.  So cool and the best of both worlds! 

Visit family and get some tropical vibes.  So Fun!
